The role YOU play in your life

I recently updated my business card and selected this quote for the back of it.  When I read this profound truth, it elicits strong feelings of empowerment in me.  I have a sense that it will bring up different emotions for each person who reads it depending on where they are in life.

Our perspective is the lens through which all things get filtered.  Our attitude is the final overlay for how our consciousness gets expressed in the world.

Where I am right now…I absolutely LOVE being in the driver’s seat of my life! Consciously creating each and every day the experiences I want to have, the places I want to go, the people I want to spend time with, all with the knowing that I can step into whatever I desire with intention and action.

But it hasn’t always been that way.  I can remember back to a less empowered version of me when I resonated with the energy of apathy, seeing life as a series of mundane events all unfolding in a succession of one after the other.  My inner light was dim, barely a glow, cut off from the vital force energy that sustains each and every one of us through our connection to Source.  I was viewing the world from a level of consciousness that vibrated with being a victim.

I wanted someone to solve problems FOR me. I searched outside of myself for solutions. I wanted things to materialize without taking action.  I wanted the golden path to be laid out in front of me and of course a chariot to carry me where I didn’t know I wanted to go.  I wanted the Universe to take me where I was ‘supposed’ to be.  I didn’t know the location but surely the omniscience of Source did!  I wanted an button because I didn’t have the energy to figure it all out.

I mean, how the hell was I suppose to create a vision and road map and steps along the way?  I struggled with basic life tasks like having to decide what to eat 3 times a day and what outfit to wear.  After those choices were made, little energy was left for such massive under takings as what am I going to do with the rest of my life? And HOW am I going to do that? Exhausting questions!

I think we all have spent a significant amount of time wondering when the traction and momentum are going to happen for us.

Here’s the good news.

The traction begins the moment you decide it does.  The truth is you don’t need to know what you’ll be doing in 20 years.  I have no clue where my journey will take me and I’m completely satisfied with that.  I’m focusing on creating my life NOW. Aligning with my desires NOW.  Opening up to possibility and expansion NOW. Saying yes and showing up for my life in each and every day.  With this attitude, I am always surprised and in awe about what shows up after intention and action. I don’t feel let down because life didn’t meet my expectations. I CREATE from the space of my soul’s expression and find joy and bliss in the creation process NOT in taking out my yard stick to measure how everything and everyone fell below my standards. And trust me; we’ve all got ridiculous standards. These standards are usually activated in proportion to the level that we feel unfulfilled in our lives.  The more time I spend on taking action to create, the less time I spend playing traffic cop to monitor everyone else.

Distraction, confusion, lack of clarity, procrastination…all excuses we engage in to escape from having to get on with it already.

You are the powerful creator of your reality.  You are responsible for the beginning, the middle and the end.  You know what makes your heart sing and you can begin to create the life you want the moment you decide to.  Are you ready?
